Openings on the Bibliography & Reference Awards Committee

The RAS Awards Committee invites all RAS members to apply to serve on the committee. The AJL Judaica Bibliography and Reference Awards were established to encourage the publication of outstanding academic reference resources.

Awards committee members must be a member in good standing of AJL and actively participate in the work of the committee through email discussions and work on other web-based platforms. The members review chosen reference and bibliography publications and submit reviews at the beginning of the calendar year and participate in email discussions about the redacted reviews. Members can serve on two consecutive two-year terms.

If you are interested in being a part of Awards Committee, please speak with Rachel Simon or send her an email at rsimon@princeton.edu by September 1, 2016.

To see a list of past winners, they are available on the AJL website: http://jewishlibraries.org/content.php?page=Reference___Bibliography_Awards

Various bloggers take turns hosting the Carnival, and June's host is Barbara Krasner at The Whole Megillah. Barbara is an AJL member who has served on the Sydney Taylor Book Award committee and has been a recipient of the Groner-Wikler Scholarship for AJL Conference Attendance, given to an AJL member who demonstrates dedication to Jewish children's literature and library services.
