AJL 2020 Conference Logo

  • ATTENTION: A Virtual “Hospitality Suite” has been added to the schedule on Monday at 5pmEDT.  Small groups can create a break-out room to discuss specific topics such as day school libraries, high school libraries, synagogue libraries, catalogers, bibliographers, best practices for opening after the pandemic or anything else you’re interested in.  Connect with colleagues on the Socio App and plan to meet in the Virtual Hospitality Suite.  This session won't be recorded, but the chat will be saved.

  • Kick-off your Monday with our Keynote Address at 11amEDT: “Who Wants to Be a Jewish Reader? A Discussion on Reviewing Jewish Books” with Adam Kirsch and Jonathan Kirsch, moderated by Erika Dreifus.

  • Library Accreditation Awards will be presented during the School, Synagogue, Centers & Public Libraries Division Meeting at 12:30pmEDT. Please join us to recognize these recipients:

AJL is pleased to present you with this moon-and-stars coloring page from Creation Colors by Ann D. Koffsky (Apples & Honey Press). Thanks very much to Ann for sharing her artwork with us. The Cleveland Clinic reports that adult coloring can reduce stress and relax the brain. This coloring sheet is offered to give our attendees a relaxing gift during these difficult times, and to give the doodlers among us something to do with their hands while attending the online sessions. We invite you to scan or take a photo of your finished artwork, and to use it as a virtual background on Zoom during the final conference event, the Brain Bash Trivia and Cocktail Hour on Thursday at 7pmEDT  in order to help our community create a fun and festive atmosphere. Don't worry if you are not able to use virtual backgrounds; we will also ask everyone to hold up their artwork at some point so we can take a group photo.

  • If you are using the Socio App, please create a profile with your photo, job title, institution, location, and brief bio. so that other conference attendees can connect with you.
  • Be sure to update the Socio App frequently by clicking on the orange circular refresh arrow at the top right corner of your screen.  Reload and refresh the Socio website too to ensure that you will see anything that has recently been added.
  • Due to cloud-based space requirements, the recordings will not be available until 24 hours (or more) after the session. You will be able to find them within the session schedule in place of the original Zoom session. Thank you for your patience!

AJL would like to thank our sponsors for the Monday sessions: Dan Wyman Books, OPALS/MediaFlex, Eric Chaim Kline, and Psik Books & Technologies Ltd. Also, be sure to visit our Sponsor Ads from our Socio website or App.
