Description/Charter of Librarianship and Education Committee

The Association of Jewish Libraries is dedicated to supporting its members through formal courses – virtual real-time, asynchronous, tutorial videos, and in person – in librarianship with a focus on Hebraica and/or Judaica content for both the RAS and SSCPL divisions.

AJL Classroom is a series of courses aimed at the SSCPL (School, Synagogue, Center, and Public Library) division in a variety of topics.  Past courses included Evaluating Young Adult Literature, Library Management 101, Programming and Outreach for Synagogue Libraries, and more.

In recent months, AJL has partnered with the Jewish Theological Seminary to create a certification for Judaica Librarianship in Research, Archives, and Special Libraries.

Past webinars on Collection Development for Judaica Materials and Cataloging Judaica Resources are available to logged-in members.
